Dr. Amy Dixon began her administrative experience as principal of an alternative/safe schools for students in grades 6-12 who were removed from their school due to truancy and/or expulsion. She began working for the Carmi-White County CUSD #5 in 2003 as an elementary principal and currently leads two elementery building within the district. In addition to being a principal, Dr. Dixon works as an Adjunct Professor for Eastern Illinois University. Prior to becoming an administrator, she worked in various districts as a school social worker.
Dr. Dixon had the honor to serve as President of the IPA during the 2020-2021 school year. Currently, Dr. Dixon serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).
