Rae Clements is the Director of Accountability for the Illinois State Board of Education.  Clements began at ISBE working closely with the state's lowest performing schools before transitioning to Director of Assessment and Accountability in 2018.  Rae is committed to a future where all children experience an extraordinary education, and the best part of her work is helping school administrators and teachers use their data to drive meaningful school improvement. Rae Clementz brings this deep engagement with schools - as well as extensive experience at all levels of education - to her work in accountability.

Clementz' background includes research methodology and educational program evaluation, curriculum development, and instructional systems technology.  Before joining ISBE, Clementz developed curriculum and educational programming at the University of Illinois and conducted state and national evaluations of programs targeting teacher use of instructional technology, teacher mentoring and induction, and urban principal leadership.
