Pedro Castro has over 23 years of experience in education, with 12 of those years as a high school administrator. As a first generation Latinx student, he has experienced the barriers Latinx parents face in terms of parent involvement. This first-hand experience has assisted Pedro as he has coordinated the Padres Unidos parent outreach program at Fenton High School for the last 12 years. This presentation provides the trials, tribulations, and successes of coordinating a Spanish-based parent outreach program.
