Future Leaders is a program to identify and encourage leadership in your district. Born out of necessity to fill administrative positions, the program helped identify those individuals interested in administrative leadership positions but also encouraged staff to take on leadership roles from whatever position they hold within the organization. The program engages staff in text and other researched ideas about leadership, allows them to hear from current district leaders and gives them an opportunity to share their thinking and hear the thoughts of others as it relates to leadership. The goal of the program is to assist staff ascending to leadership positions or to simply increase their capacity for leadership within their varying roles. At minimum, it will send your staff out with new ideas to explore, try, and experience. The program will afford you the opportunity to build relationships with staff that you wouldn’t necessarily have the opportunity to do otherwise. Strategies for developing and expanding leadership competencies within current or future roles will be discussed.
